PHARMACIST

We are looking for an outstanding person to run a pharmacy at a large supermarket in Iqaluit, NWT. The Pharmacist will be responsible for providing superlative patient care and strong leadership to the pharmacy staff. The Pharmacist will also play an important role in the local community, addressing community groups, contributing to the newspaper and providing consulting services to the local hospital. The ideal candidate for this role would be a dynamic, qualified pharmacist who can be registered with the NWT College of Pharmacists as a member in good standing, and who has excellent management, communications and interpersonal skills.

Compensation
BASE SALARY for a 40hr work week $90,000.00

Oncology

In this newly created position, you will join our multidisciplinary team and support our expanding oncology program as well as be involved in the implementation of the pharmacy satellite for the Peel Regional Cancer Centre.

Inpatient

Expansion has created opportunities for additional pharmacists for our inpatient units.

CLINICAL & TECHNOLOGY… As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will be involved in such areas as drug therapy monitoring, pharmacokinetic evaluation, drug information, and pharmaceutical care. Nursing unit liaison, in-service education, and patient teaching will challenge your clinical and interpersonal skills. Pharmacists are actively involved in our DUE program, diabetes and cardiac teaching, Self-Med program, and ambulatory care clinics. Using our advanced hospital-wide computer system and other technology (ATC-212, SuerMed, Meditech), you will ensure efficient unit dose and IV admixture drug distribution to maximize patient care.
